Ever felt like you just don’t know if you can make it out of THIS!

There comes a time in all our lives that we feel like I just can’t life it anymore. Personally, I can recall times, seasons or moments when I felt like that. Sometimes, it comes because there seems to be an attack on every side. If it isn’t this, it is that. Sometimes, it comes because my mind has become to full of worries, regret, doubt, fears, or what ifs. Other times, it comes because I am too concerned about me. Then, the reality of life just gets difficult to maneuver. We can’t pray, fast, touch and agree or etc. life away.

Matthew 5:45 NIV- that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. This is clear that bad things do happen to God’s people. The reason for this is the result of sin. Once sin entered the world it corrupted our perfect peace and life without any hardship.

The good news is JESUS! Yes, he is our good news. He came to give us an abundant life. You see in him we can find joy, contentment, peace and the full benefits of the fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23. In short, even we will feel like we can’t make it. The truth is yes, we can!!!! We have the greater One living on the inside of us. While he doesn’t keep us from going through trials and tribulations, he can affect how we go through them.

You and I have a choice. We can live life giving into it or we can live life rising above it. We can walk in the truth, that we are MORE than conquerors. It is written this way in Romans 8:37, “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”

When the spirit of heaviness, self-pity or give up come upon me, here are some things I do:

  1. Cry out to the Lord – literally

  2. Evaluate where I am off track – although life happens – I am fully responsible for my response

  3. Repent and ask the Holy Spirit to love me back into his grace (and that I accept it)

  4. Talk and allow my community (those I have relationship with) to encourage and love me

  5. Ask for prayer

I can’t tell you how often I fall into despair. However, I can tell you that I don’t live (stay) there. When I decide that enough is enough, I do what God tells me to do to get out of it. Finally, we must understand that our reality is subject to change. But, our God is constant and never changes. Therefore, we must allow the truth to make us free (John 8:32).

Have an amazing day on purpose!
