Chaos or the will of God????

This morning on my drive into work, things seemed and felt chaotic. The cars seem to ignore the traffic signs, my mind seemed full and my spirit seemed to long for a place of rest. Have you ever been there?

Immediately, I looked up and asked the Lord, “Why do things appear so chaotic”? He said simply, “Because they are.” My mind immediately went to John 16:33(NKJV) “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will[a] have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”

You see, there are times when the happenings of this world cause me to question the presence of God. Then, my mind shifts and know that the tribulation of this world validates the presence of God. What we call chaos, God calls his will. We can spend time trying to avoid tribulation, chaos, confusion, calamity and the like. But, according to the Word, we cannot avoid it. In fact, the more you are in the presence of God, the more you attract the world’s trouble. We are targets for the world of darkness.

Yet, we possess the Light! How amazing is that?! You and I possess the very essence of who our God is, Light by way of the Holy Spirit! Which is why the Lord reminds us, the world has already been overcome by HIM. The truth is no matter what happens in the world, we that have accepted, believe and confess Jesus as our Lord and Savior we win.

Take a look at this truth, Corinthians 4:8-9 “We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair. 9 We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.” Chaos cannot conquer us if we don’t succumb to it.

I want to encourage you to rejoice knowing fully your God has a plan for everything that is happening. No matter where you find yourself, at this moment, God can use it and you. Here are a few practical things I would like to share which help me overcome those times of chaos:

  1. Find a quiet place

  2. If you love nature sounds or water; download or play a prophetic piece or YouTube (type in your YouTube search engine- prophetic music).

  • If you love worship music (you can use YouTube too)

  • If you love hearing the Word of God (yes, YouTube has this too)

  1. Quiet your spirit by breathing slowly a few times (Counting to 10 helps me) inhaling and exhaling

  2. The scripture that you have hidden in your heart-quote it slowly

  3. Lastly, enter the rest of the Lord either through continuing to worship, pray, or simply being with the Lord
